Cambodia Praises Bilateral Military Cooperation with Brunei, The Philippines And Malaysia

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia and some other ASEAN nations – Brunei, the Philippines, and Malaysia – have appreciated their military cooperation and vowed to continue fostering their collaboration for their mutual interest.

The appreciation was underlined in three separate meetings via videoconferences on Tuesday and Wednesday between the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), Gen. Vong Pisen and the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat ; the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Lieutenant General Andres C. Centino and the Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia, Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bi Haji Buang.

During the meeting, the RCAF commander-in-chief and his Brunei, Philippine and Malaysian counterparts have exchanged views on the armed forces’ contribution with the government in the fight against COVID-19. They also shared the same stance to continue strengthening and expanding their cooperation interrupted for a certain period of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As RCAF is the 19th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces’ Meeting (ACDFM-19), Gen. Vong Pisen has invited his Brunei, Philippine and Malaysian counterparts to physically participate in the meeting to be held in March 2022 in Phnom Penh.
